Step – Use the TLG and QBW.Adr File in the Original Format to Restore QB Data

You can recover all the missing QuickBooks data by using the TLG and ADR files and accessing the QuickBooks file recovery tool.

  1. Make a new QBTEST folder and open the folder where the company file is saved to copy the corresponding TLG file and paste it into it.

  2. Look for the .TLG file in the company file’s folder with the same name as the company file and show file extensions as follows:

  3. Open the Windows Explorer and click on Organize to choose Folder and Search Options and unmark the Hide Extensions for known file types option.

  4. Click Apply and open the QuickBooksAutoDataRecovery tool, which you will find in the same location as that of the company file.

  5. Copy the .QBW.adr file and paste it to the QBTest folder, and right-click the .QBW.adr file from the QBTest folder to select Rename, and delete .adr present at the end of the file.

  6. Open the company file that is saved on your QBTest folder and use your account register to verify all transactions are there.

  7. Now, Run the QuickBooks Verify Data Utility to ensure the integrity of this company file from the File menu by hitting the Utilities option and selecting the Verify Data option.

  8. If this copy of the company file is fine, move the damaged company file to a different location.
